Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter June 30, 2024

 

This morning I’m getting on a flight to MN to begin a crazy 3 days 2 nights journey to bring some collections back to Charlotte. One of these I’ve been talking to the family since March and the other just popped up on the radar this month. Both are unique and not what any of you would call homeruns. No first flaps hordes, nobody that any of you would ever have heard of. But in this hobby sometimes people just accumulate ALOT of Scout stuff that in the end needs to get recycled.

 

I am going to try and record some video of the trip. I spoke to a veteran SM and Hot Finds reader Thursday at camp and he encouraged me to do so. I really like a YouTube channel called Chasing Cardboard. These guys masterfully document traveling the country to pick up sports card collections. I can’t pull off that level of videography, but I’ll take a stab at making a homemade movie of the trip.

 

Lucky for me when I get home, I will have some help. Patrick my son owes me some June work hours so Weds-Fri he can help dad sort things out. My plan is to unload the truck into a climate-controlled unit so the July heat doesn’t kick my butt too bad. Then once I can go through everything and sort, I can bring it back to the warehouse in my minivan as ready.

 

On eBay I have 143 live auctions almost solely focused on pin and other small items. I also have a 39% off sale running in the store on about 2k items.
