Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter July 9, 2024

In a little while I’ve got to leave the beach condo and drive about 30 minutes to purchase a footlocker of stuff from a family. The daughter is driving up to meet me and do the exchange. I’ve seen all the pictures and this collection has some neat stuff that I rarely get. In fact I already know the first person I’m going to call to rehome one of the key pieces.

 

One of my vacation joys is being able to read some good books and spend some time in thought. That’s because I am almost always reading self-help and business books. My wife is reading some SciFi and my son is reading Ready Player One (very good!). I’m reading this week: The Wealthy Barber, Building a Second Brain, The Power of One More and Thinking in Bets. I don’t think I’ll get through all of them but I’ve started all of them and avoided getting sunburned so far!

 

When I get back in the warehouse Monday, I literally have one week to get ready for NOAC. The week prior to flying out to CO I will be camping with my son and a friend’s family. So whatever I’m going to take has to get organized and put in a duffle bag. For me it’s just going to be some good old fashioned 1:1 trading so I need to sort my dupes.

 

I have 161 live auctions on eBay that include many pins and special issue shoulder patches. Building up the auction calendar will be another priority for the week I get back.
