Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter November 15, 2024
Today I picked up a $1500 order for the cards that go in Best Hobby Pages envelopes. It’s part of the churn that every so often I have to write a big check to keep the old saying “Got Plastic We Do” alive. Luckily since the beginning I have walled off the BHP within my business so the finances remain separate and I can afford to keep everything in stock.
A few of you sent helpful ideas regarding my quest to buy a warehouse in 2025. Right now my plastic is stored in a climate controlled unit about a mile away from my current leased warehouse. I just ran out of space so we keep a minimum stock on hand and the remaining cases are within a short drive. Usually once every two weeks I have to go make a run. So that will be another perk of getting a new place in 2025 – space for all parts of the business.
On eBay this week I have 139 live auctions running on CPs, World Jamboree, a GA collection and more.Today I worked on some better OA that will be hitting the auction site in the coming weeks.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
