Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter March 02, 2018
Today I’m picking up the kids early so that we can attend the Pack’s spring super trip. This one is a sleepover at Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC. I don’t quite know what’s special about sleeping on the floor in a building at the zoo but I must be getting old. My Cub Scout son is plenty excited.
I sold my first ever Girl Scout lot on Facebook last night. The GS groups have all kinds of rules and wouldn’t you know it I broke 1/2 of them on my first post. But I’m learning. What did disappoint was the first 2 people that indicated interest to buy would never message me back. I guess that says something about women and impulse buying.
I wrote over $3000 worth of checks to my consignors this week. I only have a handful but that was a little painful on the pocket book. So I’m setting up a new system to set aside the money from their sales and not let it flow into my checkbook. That way next month I won’t be a grouch all day after writing those four figure checks. 🙂

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
