Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter January 03, 2021

I filmed a video 6 years ago with Matt Delk focused on his collection of OA belt buckles at the Easley, SC TOR. I remember using a really inexpensive Nikon point and shoot camera but it turned out just fine. Matt is an entertainer (you should see him at a campfire!) and his video has been viewed over 2k times.

On of my most popular videos sparked a cottage industry. Six years ago as I was preparing to help put together a museum for the Dixie Fellowship my lodge was hosting. I spent over $1000 getting a local carpenter to create table top frames that held the popular Boxware frames. I shared this idea in a detailed video which encouraged some other collectors to perfect their own designs This video has been viewed over 4500 times.

My most popular unboxing video with over 7k views was filmed from the basement of the house we rented when we first moved to Charlotte. This was a collection from a professional Scouter who had been at it for 37 years prior to retiring. I have no idea why this one is so popular but sometimes you just get lucky.

In the Patchblanket eBay Store I have 154 auctions running with a couple dozen of those ending Tuesday. I worked my way around the holidays but now things are back on track. On ScoutPatchHQ I have 35 auctions running as I finish out listing a 1950s OA collection.

The end of the year is a good time to review everything in your business and make some decisions for upcoming projects. I’ve been doing that the last few weeks and in the next issue of the Hot Finds you will see me kick off a few things! Stay tuned for news on Tuesday.
