Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter January 16, 2022

The sleet is coming down in Charlotte and I am seeing on FB that many of my friends in the Southeast are sharing pictures for some rare snow. I’ve put my Boy Scout skills to work and prepared for the eventual loss of power if we get the 1/4 inch of ice. But otherwise until then I can keep working from home on eBay and get some new stuff launched.

I had a glitch this week on Shopify that caused over 12k of my synced items to end on eBay. Luckily I have figured out how to get everything recovered and I’m slowly putting everything back up for sale. That’s about 20% of my store so it’s also been an interesting test of the “sell similar” feature strategy that some of the eBay Youtubers talk about.

I am planning a trip to Georgia in the next few weeks to make some deals and potentially pick up some collections. It’s not often that I set out on the road to go get stuff but when the stars align sometimes it’s just easier. One of these is a trip to Rick Mann’s frame shop in Augusta to get some awesome Boy Scout artwork that I had framed.
This week on eBay I have 403 live auctions on eBay. That’s way more than normal but I accidentally launched some listings to auction while figuring out the Shopify glitch. Tonight’s big group ending includes Texas OA, pins and shoulder patches.
My kids will be very disappointed that we don’t live 50 miles further into the piedmont where I suspect they are getting true snow. Sleet is not nearly as fun or as pretty to look out at. But it’s a Sunday and there was already no school tomorrow so it’s about as good a time as any for a winter storm. Stay warm and stay safe my patch friends!
