Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter January 26, 2021

If you have been to the pop up museum at recent NOACs then you have seen a portion of Russell’s amazing collection. Always up for a challenge he read Chris Jensen’s copy of the Wabaningo book and asked “how hard would these be to get”? Now if there ever was a true reason for someone to use the “LOL” laugh out loud response.

But Russell attacked the idea with research, spreadsheets and networking to assemble an amazing collection over the next couple of decades. In the interview we talk about all of that including lots of insight he shares about OA insignia after WWII into the early 1950s. If you are a die hard thread head you will not want to miss this episode.

Russell is now selling the best of this collection in a private sale. His reputation in the hobby is such that he is even allowing his own version of proxy bidding which was not something he originally wrote into the terms of sale. You and see the beautiful online flipbook he made sharing this collection. The sale ends January 31st.

On eBay I have 262 live auctions mostly on OA flaps and issues. Every night this week I’ve got 2-dozen auctions ending as I try and keep up the pace of listing new material.

In my plan for 2021 I am trying to release new content every Monday. Next week I’ll have my latest unboxing video out for everyone to watch. This one does not contain any fireworks but it’s always fun to see what someone’s Scouting story is through their memorabilia.
