Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter March 12, 2021
Well I guess this is what progress looks like. My email provider has decided that my decade old template was too old fashioned so they have decided to force me into accepting their new system. I am still playing with some things but I’ve tried to recreate the layout of the newsletter that everyone is used to. Their goal was to make the emails friendly to read on a smart phone.
So I have decided to experiment with bringing back a project that was put to bed a decade ago. Some of you might remember that I published 27 videos a long time ago featuring a weekly Top 10 list for the Boy Scout category. While pruning my website of old posts with missing images and broken links I came across those videos.
In a remake of this project I took some inspiration from what I’ve seen other YouTubers doing and decided to do some research and add commentary to the video. So in other words instead of just showing a picture of the items I talk about the listing for a minute or two giving some context and dishing on the eBay sale.
Going into the weekend I have
442 live auctions on eBay. Many of these are neckerchiefs from all over including camps, councils and events. Today I might try and film a quick “
Inside the Warehouse” video for my Scouting Hot Finds Insiders group. I’m sorting out a giant decade long accumulation of Jamboree patches and some of you might find it interesting to see.
This weekend I am getting to double dip on Scouting fun. First off I am accompanying my daughter’s troop on a camping trip and the weather forecast is amazing. But as it happens the PLC decided to go camping at Barstow and do a shooting sports program. So I’m taking the opportunity to meet Saturday with the key staff leadership including my Program Director to get a planning session in on lesson plans and merit badge instruction. It’s going to be a great Scouting weekend on Lake Murray!
