I am still figuring out the new template for the newsletter. Luckily after Friday I fixed the issue of pictures not always having a link to the auction. Sorry for teasing you on some of those! Apparently this is what progress looks like with a new and updated template that is more mobile friendly.
At Camp Barstow I’ve spent the most beautiful weekend of the year outside sleeping in a tent with a group of enthusiastic Scouts. One of the other dad’s took care of all the adult food and I only had to wash my personal dishes. Oh yes I could get used to this! The Scouts spent Saturday doing a shooting sports day with our staff. After a safety briefing they got to shoot rifles, shotguns and throw tomahawks. From the chatter around the campfire last night it was a successful trip.
I was able to have a day long planning session with more than a dozen key staff members getting ready for 2021. We focused on merit badge instruction with a great presentation from Larry Green (www.Scoutingpioneerig.com). Everyone got into their areas and got the lay of the land including the beginnings of needs lists. I spent some time with the program director, business manager and ranger sorting out some questions and talking shop. All together I am really happy with our preparations for camp and 2 of our 4 weeks are sold out.
On eBay I have 423 live auctions with over 100 of those ending tonight. This includes a good variety of OA (some from the Carolinas) and much more. It also includes the very first pieces of a 1500 piece OA collection that I’ll be selling over the next couple of months. This is the “central time zone” collection that some of you may remember I went to get in January. If you are curious about that collection I did film an almost 20 minute video on it which is one of the videos accessible in my Patreon Group as an “Inside the Warehouse” segment.
Monday morning I should be publishing my next unboxing video too keep my streak up. In case I haven’t mentioned this I will be taking June-August off when it comes to the podcast and other fun video projects. When it’s time to put the camp director hat on there won’t be any time for fun “patch projects”. I will still keep my store open as I have a couple of very dependable employees that have worked for me going on two years now. I hope you are getting out and enjoying the spring thaw after a long winter.
