Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter March 22, 2024
This morning when I peaked back to look at my eBay operation I found that yesterday was my lowest sales day in all of 2024. I was instantly reminded of a comment my wife made. We attended the Round 1 games of the NCAA mens tournament yesterday in Charlotte. She looked around the Spectrum Center (announced attendance 18k+) and remarked, “we are such a wealthy country that so many people can take the day off from work to watch basketball”.
So this morning it occurred to me that not only was there a good bit of truth in her observation but it also meant that non bracket activities such as shopping for collectibles on eBay were also impacted. It’s a bit like going out somewhere on during the Super Bowl I guess but this March Madness drags on for three weekends. So just to make the confession my bracket is already trashed although I think I am ahead of my wife who spent at least an hour researching her picks on Google while mine were shot from the hip.
I have 379 live auctions on eBay this week which is way over what I normally do. I schedule my listings ahead of time and usually do a very good job of keeping everything pretty level. But I double booked some this time which is even more reason for you to take a look.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
