There has been a great thread on the Patch-L listserve where people are naming and thanking those who influenced them in the hobby. Now mind you they are talking about people who have mostly passed away but the kindness and willingness to help others get started are not forgotten. My takeaway is how many Scouts and Scouters can you help in 2020 to have a helping hand with their collecting efforts?
Last week we had a few telephone conferences regarding summer camp. The main pain point for me is trying to complete hiring the staff without being able to organize interviews in person. Thankfully all the in-person troop promotions were pretty much wrapped up. There is no indication yet that summer camp is in jeopardy as I don’t think anybody knows what April or May hold for any of us.
I am looking forward to next week since I’ll finally finish my move into the new warehouse. Monday I’ll finish getting some shelves built on the wall and then Tuesday will be the final move day with a Uhaul rental. If I’m really lucky by the end of the week I’ll get back to doing some Facebook Live sales with the video format.
I only have 74 more auctions winding down on my Oapatch account. The move has slowed me down getting more stuff ready to go. I’ll have a couple of good months in April and May to make up for lost time and get a bunch listed.
This weekend has been about getting outside and enjoying the warm spring weather to try and counter the funk of everything being closed. The yard is getting some much needed attention. Yesterday we had a dinner picnic at a local park which we need to visit more often. I hope your family is finding creative ways to battle the “funk” and pass the time.
