Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter April 18, 2025

If you have not watched the video of Harold interviewing Paul Myers at the NSM then you are in for a treat. Not only because the “Magnificent Cloth” is such a cool piece…but also because Paul entertains us with all the stories that go with it. I got to see this piece up close at the Easley TOR in January as Russell Smart had just taken possession of it. Serving as the Chairman of the museum so to speak he worked to get just the right display built to highlight this snapshot of 1918 memorabilia.

I caught what Paul said at the end about the possibility of donating more items to the museum. But I want to make sure that all of you know Paul has spent ALOT of his own money building Scouting memorabilia history websites for the hobby. I know he just made one for knives and his one for National Jamborees is a fantastic reference. This is what collectors of any age need – the story of the insignia presented online in an appealing way that is free and very thorough.

For my part I have a ton of eBay auctions running featuring some really nice neckerchiefs, SAPs and OA issues. Many of these neckerchiefs came from a collection which I was very happy to land. The unboxing video for it will be in Sunday’s Hot Finds.
