Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter April 19, 2024
Later today I’ll be driving a little less than 2 hours to get to Camp Raven Knob for the Cardinal Conclave. The emails I have received show they expect 900 Scouts and Scouters to attend the event. At one time this conclave could draw upwards of 1500 depending on who was hosting. I’m sure like all things in Scouting there is still a slow recovery of membership and the OA is no different. This one is also in the western corner of the section so might be too long of a drive for some.
As usual the forecast in April calls for showers off and on through the weekend. At least we will have pretty ideal temperatures. I am packing up my display pieces as soon as I publish the Hot Finds as I’m part of the OA Expo exhibit on Saturday. I’m looking forward to sharing my campfire blanket collection and maybe plant some seeds.
On eBay I have 78 live auctions running focused on OA flaps along with a 1920s camp patch from PA. This week we have been working to process neckerchiefs for sale including about 1000 that I have in stock.
