Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter May 06, 2022

I finally worked on editing the video I recorded of my effort to sort out over thirty collections before going to summer camp. The full version is about 10 minutes long and is posted in my Patreon Group as the May 2022 Inside the Warehouse feature. But I took less than a minute of that video (the time lapse portion) and shared it publicly. Over six hours of sorting turned into less than 60 seconds using the time lapse feature. The link is below.

While doing that pretty massive project I was pulling out some of the better pieces to auction sooner rather than later. I got some of them listed last Sunday and are live now. Today after lunch I plan on getting even more of them ready to start this weekend.

I have 312 live auctions on eBay this week. As usual over a hundred of those are ending Sunday. This group is filled with hat pins, neckerchief slides, shoulder patches and just a wide variety of pieces I thought were a little more interesting.

I’m finally tackling my books and paper today. No category of “death piles” in the warehouse devils me more than this. But I have a plan! I’m at least extracting all the books and manuals from the back wall where they are stored. Some of the interesting ones are going to my antique mall and others are going to be part of a Boy Scout flea market to just find them a new home.
