Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter May 20, 2022
It has been 11 months since I last published a podcast episode. During that time I’ve probably put out dozens of YouTube videos but the podcast has been on ice. But Chris Jensen was kind enough to help me break that streak with an interview to promote the Pre-NOAC Trade-O-Ree coming up at the end of July.
Turns out Chris is renting tables at a faster clip than any national TOR he has held in decades. There is a lot of interest in this TOR coming out of COVID so make sure to get a table before they run out. If you know of any lodge contingents put a bug in their ear to stop by on their way in as the admission is free!
I have 300 live auctions on eBay mostly on pins, shoulder patches and OA. Dozens of these have bids with a large number of them ending Sunday.
This weekend I’m going to be hold up in an Air B&B down in GA putting the finishing touches on several Camp Barstow pieces I need to get out including the staff guide and our passport. I am also going to try and build out auction listings that will run during the summer when I am 100% focused on summer camp. It’s kinda a working vacation while my daughter is attending a Philmont shake down trip.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
