Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter May 24, 2020

I probably shouldn’t count my chickens before they hatch but this week I’m really looking forward to a small collection that I made a deal on last week. This guy went to the 1964 Jamboree and his collection is really small enough to fit in a padded envelope. But he just happened to be in a highly restrictive OA lodge and has a couple of early issue CSPs (likely contingent issues) that are killer.

I am usually an auction guy but sometimes I will reach out to people that I know collect certain areas and let them have a chance to purchase items first. Facebook also gives an opportunity for this although I don’t know if it works on items in the $500+ range as well. I have been the type to more often sell $5 patches on there.

I have 227 auctions on Patchsniper including OA conclave neckerchiefs, SAPs and flaps. On OApatch I’ve got 50 auctions all from lodges in the 300+ number range. You can see 262 auctions in the $5dollarpatchstore including early CSPs and event neckerchiefs.

I am continuing to sell of a Georgia OA collection focused on Lodge 204 and 353. This week I’ll continue to load up my auction lister service to make sure that each account has fresh material starting every day.

I was not able to make a live video Friday. I spent the whole afternoon shipping and never caught a break. But ASAP I will do that because the collection sitting on my desk is really interesting. It includes some WWII vet bring backs that I rarely get in a Scout collection.
