The collection was from a 1957 Eagle Scout who had an interesting childhood as a military brat. His dad served in the occupation forces right after WWII and the family spent time at Fort Bragg in NC before settling down at Fort Devens in Massachusetts. During that time the Scout was part of an Air Explorer Squadron.
Now I am a huge Air Scout, Senior Scouts, Explorer collector and this collection included something that I had been looking for many years. I could have purchased this item on eBay at some point but I wanted to have one with all the provenance. Even better if I could dig it up from the original owner. My patience finally paid off!
I won’t make you watch the whole video to see what I got. It is a powder blue Air Explorer uniform shirt. The collection also includes this guy’s merit badge sash and even his letter from the Chief Scout Executive. So obviously I’m keeping all that for a display. But the military stuff I’m going to turn around and sell on eBay as soon as I can do some research and get it photographed.
I have auctions starting and ending every day of the week on three of my eBay accounts. On Patchsniper you can find 181 live auctions while on OApatch I have exactly 100 auctions on flaps. Meanwhile the $5dollarpatchstore has 280 auctions including neckerchiefs, CSPs and even old felt camp patches.
I’ve got two more collections to “unbox” and another one arriving this week I hope. These are fun videos to shoot and I’ll try and get them done soon.
