Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter June 15, 2025
Back about 10 years ago I was doing a show with Brad England we called Thread Heads. I also published some episodes that were Trade-O-Ree interviews. This was one of my favorites as I sat down with the Pin Man Doug Chambers. We talked about his passion for this corner of our hobby in the interview. I have since kept up with Doug and to this day he helps me sort pins that I get in collections.
I got a call Saturday that made my day! Three of my former Barstow staff members who are all Eagle Scouts from our girl troop in Charlotte decided to visit the Sleepy Poet Antique Mall. They found my booth and took a picture to share with me. These were my daughters running buddies all through Scouts and church youth.
I spent the Thursday and Friday in the warehouse sorting out rank patches. I even got a few lots posted on eBay just to see what they would do. Next week I have a very short week as we are going on vacation. But I hope to get my position patches sorted as well.
On eBay I have 215 live auctions including some really nice GA OA. All of these came from one collection and it might turn out to be the best trip to Atlanta I ever made.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
