Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter May 29, 2022

This might be Memorial Day weekend but there is no holiday from eBay auctions ending on Sunday like usual. Click any of these listings to see what some of the most interesting ones are going for.

I finally may have come up with a TOR strategy that I’m going to stick with. This has been my eternal struggle as I don’t want to bring live inventory (on eBay) to an event and then have it sell or get out of order and not be able to find it when needed. But since I usually am attending the 4 shows in the Carolinas plus if I’m lucky two conclaves there is a geographical bias. So I am putting together a ton of loose dupes from all the OA lodges in those areas and carding them with price tags. I won’t take this set up to NOAC but my first test will be Occoneecee in August.

I started this back before the recent Cornerstone Conclave and dragged all my dupes down with a big spread on a table. The collectors there seemed to respond and so going forward I’m duplicating that strategy with the lodge patches from SR-7B which is the rest of North Carolina.

On eBay I have 291 live auctions with many of those ending tonight. This run is heavy on SAPs with some really surprising bids. I also have some vintage OA from all over as the desert tonight.

I am leaving for camp Friday morning. If my calendar of camp, family vacation and NOAC holds I will only be home two weeks over the next three months. That’s kinda scary and exciting at the same time!
