Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter June 18, 2021

 

It’s been a great staff week at Camp Barstow. In a little over 48 hours we will welcome our Week 1 campers and I think the camp and the staff are ready. But before then we have a special treat. There is a camp staff alumni reunion Saturday with over 100 old timers coming out for a catered meal and lots of tall tales.
There will be a memorabilia display put as part of the reunion. I’m anxious to see what the guys are going to bring out and share. For my part I’ve got just a little bit of stuff that I think is pretty cool from this part of the state. One of those is a wonderful vest that belonged to a long time Scout Executive in the 1940s.
On eBay I have 216 auctions running on OA and some great vintage council patches. This weekend I hope to load some more auctions in the scheduler so that I can keep my run going.
This coming Tuesday Matt Delk and I are going to put on our first pop-up museum for the campers at Barstow. He has been busy with National Guard duties so we haven’t actually pulled it out yet but I think the campers will be impressed.
