Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter July 04, 2021

Happy Independence Day! Tonight at camp we will try and celebrate that with a small part of our opening campfire. We have a smaller crowd than normal thanks to the holiday but I hope that will allow me to get out and about taking pictures and capturing the camp spirit rather than putting out fires.

As you can see there are some good OA pieces up for auction this weekend. One of my projects waiting at home is getting the remaining pieces of a really nice OA collection identified and listed.

Don’t forget to circle on your calendars the weekend of September 17-18 for the Charlotte TOR. We don’t charge any admission and this year I just learned the pack has added a pinewood derby event for the community as a Cub Scout recruiting piece. So there might be all kinda of people just walking in – get your dollar boxes ready!

On eBay I have 177 live auctions including a nice group of vintage council event patches ending tonight. My antique mall booth has had a good run so far this summer. I stocked it really well before leaving for camp and some visitors have discovered it’s kinda like going to a TOR set up – there are patches, uniforms, books, and artwork.

This weekend I didn’t go home but rather hung back at camp to check in a couple of troops coming from out of state. I’m getting a little anxious about being away from the office so long but I have two great moms that work for me and have done a good job keeping everything running smooth.
