Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter July 06, 2021

We have a smaller week of campers with the July 4 holiday falling on a Sunday this year. But the ones that are in camp are having fun. We should get brushed by some rain from Elsa later in the week but with our bundle system if we need to adjust schedules we have a lot of flexibility.

I am lining up a week long trip in August to go get some collections. So far I plan to drive possibly as far as Texas. This is not how I normally operate but sometimes you have to make exceptions. Plus my son has almost nothing to do in August so he might be a reluctant shotgun rider for this trip.

One thing we have focused on with a light week at camp is rewriting lesson plans for our bundles. Now that the counselors have been able to teach the material for 2 weeks it’s the perfect time to go back and edit all of our stored plans and resources. The goal is that next year whoever is in charge of the bundle will get a notebook and be 90% ready to go on day one.

On eBay this week I have 161 live auctions. One of the most unique ones is featured here – a BSA troop based in Iran pre-revolution. You don’t see that everyday!

It seems strange but looking at the calendar we only have a little over 10 days of camp. I won’t say time has flown by as some days it stood still – but overall a great summer thus far.
