Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter July 2, 2017

It’s not every day I can post an Air Scout Ace medal in the Hot Finds. This one is from 1949 and it includes the provenance which is always extra sweet for a collector. The bidding on this one is approaching market value so we will see if anybody really wants to go all in when it closes.

Up here at the Summit there was some talk of GSUSA being part of the World Jamboree in 2019. I don’t remember any mention of Girl Scouts of America having troops at the WJ. I almost immediately shut that down as just somebody’s wishful thinking but definitely worth investigating a little further. I didn’t even know there was a similar event for WAGGS but someone said there was.

The other nice thing about being at the Summit less than a month before the 2017 NJ is that I could see the infrastructure going up all around. White tents are dotting the landscape and you can still see freshly laid sod in several places. All in all the camp looks beautiful and ready to host the Jamboree in a few weeks.

I’ve been working on a big online project and I hope that next week is when I can fire it up. June has been a busy month of family and traveling but I think I see a little calm before the Jamboree that might be the right time to turn things on this new project.
