Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter June 29, 2021

The irony is very real! I was sitting at my table at theTuscaloosa AL TOR when I got an email about a collection. Turns out the guy was from AL that attended the 1957 National Jamboree. We talked on the phone and miraculously the collection was in my box on Monday after the show.

I love getting time capsule collections like this. He did some trading at the Jamboree but otherwise never reengaged with Scouting. This Scouter even kept the Jamboree patrol flag from all those years ago.

If you are not already a member of my Scouting Hot Finds Insiders Patreon Group now might be the time to join. I just shared an “After the Unboxing” video with my supports that includes some exclusive content of me dishing on this collection. You can join for as little as $2/month to help me continue to publish great content.

Over on eBay I have 175 live auctions running including OA and many council event patches. Last weekend I was able to reload my schedule and I should continue to have listings ending every night.

Things are going well in camp this week. Last night I took nearly a dozen Scout leaders out on a twilight pontoon boat tour. We reflected on how they got their start in Scouting and why the are at Camp Barstow this week. It was filled with laughter and tall tales. Turns out that old Cub Scout trick of handing the parent an application actually works.
