Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter August 26, 2022

Today I am excited to announce that I will once again be hosting the Charlotte Trade-O-Ree at my church in less than two months. I have scanned lodge calendars and I can see no conflicts for this date among the Carolinas save a Vigil weekend on Saturday night at Camp Durant. I just got the word yesterday so I don’t even have the flier ready but you can go to the website to learn about the show.

With the short amount of time to plan I am not going to have time to prep items for the silent auction. So I’m going to swap out that program element and instead have Scout memorabilia displays inside the TOR room. I’m inviting any collectors that want to participate to please reach out to me. I’ve already heard from Ryan Losonsky that he can come and of course I will be working on some displays of my own.

I have 328 live auctions on eBay and happy to say not a single one of them is 2022 NOAC. Instead I have felt camp and event patches, trail, OA, JSPs and more. It’s quite a mix!

I hope to have the flier ready by the Sunday newsletter so I can begin accepting payments for table reservations. With such a short window I will really need the help of local collectors in each lodge to get the word out. If you can distribute fliers at your next Scouting event please message me and I’ll put you on the list to mail some out.
