Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter August 6, 2023

I’ve had two big auction waves end so far on my 2023 Jamboree stuff and the final one will be tonight. Starting Monday the only auctions I’ll have up are less than 10 things that I found going through bags that slipped through the sort. That’s a good thing! At that point I will have 100% of this new stuff listed and I can focus on other projects.

This week I’m attending my very first reselling conference. Some of you have heard of things like eBay Live. Well this one is a more intimate event being held here in Charlotte called FlipCon 2023. It’s made up of resellers (a lot of them Youtubers) where they are coming together for panels and lots of networking at a local hotel. I think the attendance is in the 200-300 person range so it should be a lot of fun.

If you go down the rabbit hole of eBay YouTube there are tons of people filming videos in their garage showing their exploits buying stuff at yard sales and flea markets. I don’t watch a lot of these channels but I focus on a few that offer more general tips and tricks. I have participated in a few eBay masterminds that have been beneficial sharing ideas and strategies. I have never made a video for that audience because my goal is to create more Scouting memorabilia collectors.

I have 135 auctions ending tonight on mostly OA pieces from the Jamboree. As I mentioned after this I’ll be finished for the most part with running auctions on 2023 stuff and will pivot to building out an August calendar for regular auctions.
