Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter August 8, 2023

Although the video is not ready I filmed an unboxing for the first time in probably three 10 weeks today. Even though I’ve been at camp the faucet didn’t get turned off on buying small collections. Now I’m faced with a daunting task – I have dozens of small boxes piled up in the back of the warehouse going back as far as February/March and I need to get them open and sorted.

Most sane people would buy a collection and sort it immediately. The way I do things is more of a batch sort where I put out 40 different containers to sort out every different type of patch from modern merit badges to even Girl Scout patches. It doesn’t make sense to do that level of sorting for a single box. So I typically do this 2-3 times during the year. Of course if I land an exceptional collection I drop everything do sort that.

The other store that I’m working to build up is called Santeeswapper Store on eBay. I’ve been through a couple if iterations of what a 3rd store would look like for me (remember $5 Dollar Patch Store?). This one now has over 5k items and I’m running a big sale this week.

As promised in the Sunday issue I am basically done with 2023 Jamboree auctions. 99% of what I have left is up at fixed price in the Patchblanket eBay Store. Up next for that store I’ll be running auctions on World Jamboree and camp patches to finish out the month of August. On OApatch I’ve got 156 live auctions this week as I ramp up my scheduled listings.
