Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter September 10, 2024

I don’t know about making a trip to the Northeast this fall but I do have one planned to Atlanta on Friday Sept. 20. This one is in conjunction with the Atlanta TOR which I have not visited in many years. I’ve got two collections to go look at and thought I could swing back through the TOR for a few hours on my way home.

But the reality is I am sitting on a years worth of items to list that is already bought and paid for. Like literally I could list 50 items per day for a year and might not run out just grabbing things off of shelves. This is the blessing and a curse of having a warehouse – it’s a little too easy to keep saying yes to buying collections.

Later today I might take a picture of the wall of boxes that need to be processed in the warehouse to prove my point. I am reminded of what Chris Jensen told me recently about bringing home the Kennedy estate collection. He is facing thousands of man hours to process that purchase. So it’s not always about can you write the check it’s also the math of what do you do with it once you bring it home.

To the goal of moving inventory I have 130 live auctions on eBay this week focused heavily on OA and camp patches. Every day I am adding 50 items to the store which already has 85k pieces listed.
