Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter October 22, 2021

Wednesday I traveled to GA and only brought home 2 items. But these were worth giving up a day of travel for sure. One is a leather bomber jacket (3xl) with handmade BSA insignia on it. If you have been around you might remember some of these were made by a guy 20-25 years ago in Korea. But the kicker was the Winchester Diamond Jubilee Eagle Scout rifle. I’ve never had one of those so I did a quick video showing everyone the pick. Both of these items are available but of course its a little complicated to sell a firearm and ship it.

Today I released the final part of my chat with Bill Mulrenin on my website. In this final part Bill and I talk about how patch trading gets a little complicated when you are an advanced collector. We are looking for ideas for this monthly series so send me an email if you have one.

Right now on eBay I have 248 live auctions with some of those ending every night. This weekend my Sunday auctions include more vintage OA that is getting some love from bidders so far.

This week I have been really focused on filming unboxing videos in the warehouse. Not only to get some material for new videos but to also go through the boxes that are piling up. When I do this probably 50% of the stuff I get is basically the same – an ordeal sash, position patches etc. But then the other 50% is unique to the area they did their Scouting and that’s when things get interesting!
