Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter October 10, 2021

Last night on Facebook Joe Taylor popped his collection of early OA issues up for sale. I have the spreadsheet here so you can take a look. He collected the first twill, solid and odd shape (not always) from each lodge and put together an amazing collection over decades. But like all of us there comes a time to downsize and so he is parting this out by lodge. Take a look!

I am going to purchase a couple of key needs from Joe for my OA flap name/number collection. Like many guys I have crafted special rules for specifically what I am putting in my collection. For me it’s a flap from every lodge that made one regardless of name/number. So while that saves me from getting some of the crazy tough stuff.

This week my goal is to continue to list list list. I have so many back logged items that I have a part time lady taking pictures for me on Tuesday and I have a stack of small collections awaiting an unboxing opportunity. This fall I will continue to have some cool stuff to roll out.

I have 75 auctions up on eBay on eBay this week with a bunch ending tonight. My goal of getting the store to 50k items is still unrealized but hopefully this week will be kinder on my interruptions at work!

I am talking to Joe about the possibility of setting up a Shopify store for him like I did for Russell Smart. There are many big collectors out there that are contemplating downsizing so this is a very custom made service that I have piloted here. But for the right person it may be a good option.
