Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter November 19, 2021
I am finishing up this issue of the Hot Finds from a restaurant down the street from my antique mall. I have just a few more items to put in there before the grand opening this weekend. I want to make sure my booth is neat and ready. You wouldn’t believe how people trash a booth leaving stuff on the floor etc.
I got a call from one of the readers yesterday. When someone starts off with “I’ve been getting your Hot Finds for years” it always put a smile on my face. I usually reply with “I’m sorry” as a joke that they have kept up with my running around that long. But we had a nice conversation about some stuff he is looking to unload. He also had some great Scouting stories.
I have 318 live auctions including belt buckles, OA and all sorts of stuff. Every day I’m launching new stuff up for bids!
I’ve got 2 camp promotions coming up soon. One is in person and the other is via zoom with a Florida troop. I am talking to a leader from another troop today. So its encouraging that folks are interested in Camp Barstow and coming out of bankruptcy (soon I hope!) and COVID things are looking up.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
