Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter November 22, 2016

The Friday issue is always a bit of a trick because my choices are limited to just 2 days (FRI, SAT) and those are not typically the all-star days for auctions. Therefore, the things I find to feature are sometimes a little off-the-wall and unique. I think this block has some of those which have not been picked up on your standard eBay searches.

As I’ve been sorting boxes there is one idea/dilemma that I keep coming back to. Does it make sense to maintain 3 different inventories. Obviously 1 for my eBay listings but how about another smaller group for TOR tables and then another separate one strictly for trading at events (where selling is a no-no). Sorta the thought is if you have 5 of the same patch do you put 3 on eBay and toss the other 2 patches for the other traveling inventories.

It seems like I’ve tried this idea before and I usually get frustrated that the opportunities to hit TORs are few and far between. Which means that my items set apart for that purpose rarely see the light of day. As for trading in person other than a national event those amount to maybe a handful of weekends per year. I guess if I was one of those guys that went to a two TORs per month all across the country this would be a moot debate in my head.

Although I’m not always decisive when it comes to my patches there is one decision that I’m sticking with. The first things to get offered up from the NYC collection I brought home are going to be the odd neckerchiefs. Mostly because they are from all over but also because they take up a lot of room! I’m launching about a dozen every night up for bids.
