Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter December 05, 2021

Over the weekend I did make tremendous progress sorting all of my rank and position patches. This project has stretched on for 4 days so the return in investment might be weak but the enjoyment is in taming the chaos and making these available.

So far I’ve gotten about 90 position patches listed in my store (category Adult Position). I started with the easy ones – those from the 70s+ that have the title on the patch. Not a single one of them was more than $10 (obviously) but some I had massive quantities on. Don’t ask me how I ended up with 216 committee chairman patches from that 1972-1989 period!

This sort will get over a decade of accumulation actually listed and made available to others. Next week I’ll finish the position patches and move to ranks. For those I’m going to lot them up in sets from Scout – Eagle. I’ve got some other ideas for how to get similar items put up for sale as well.

So the reason I can play with all these low dollar items is that my auction strategy is humming with some really good pieces ending tonight. I’ve got a 1930s Camp Wisdom sash with multiple patches among others to watch.

Chris Jensen has announced plans for the 2022 NOAC TOR. It’s going to be a 3-day event over the weekend leading into NOAC. It almost feels like things are getting back to normal if we can put a big event like this on the calendar.
