We are scheduled to announce what our camp plan is on Friday so we have about 72 more hours to nail down all the details. My program director and I are thankfully of like minds about many things and we have some really good ideas forged out of pandemic precautions. Let’s just say we are practicing Semper Gumby!
For those of us looking forward to patch trading August just might be pretty darn epic after a long 2020 drought. The first week of August I plan on being at Momentum which is the replacement event for NOAC. This will be held at the Summit and even though it will be much smaller I’m sure there will be swapping during down time. At the end of the month there are rescheduled conclaves in my area (both on the same weekend – boo!) for SR7B Cardinal Conclave and SR5 Dixie Fellowship.
My OApatch account has 137 auctions up and running with most of those being flaps in the #100s. On Santeeswapper I’m selling parts of a Georgia OA collection with 40 items live and some ending in about 6 hours.
I think it’s a good sign for the hobby that despite the pandemic, despite the bankruptcy, despite the looming recession that sales in our category seem to be going strong. Collectors have found time to reorganize and rediscover their passion for the hobby. Some have decided it’s time to sell having finally cleaned out the closet and that’s ok too. We need turnover to keep the gears moving.
