This week I’m finally getting to crack open the boxes of stuff that I brought home from my trip through the South earlier this month. One of the guys did a lot of trading at national events going back into the 1980s so there is a lot of $5-$10 patches which are my bread and butter selling on eBay.
The second collection that I went to go get is much more focused on OA with certain lodges that the guy really pursued. He even had a nascent collection of every lodge with a matching CSP but that one doesn’t look to include any of the really rare stuff.
I talked to a lady recently whose husband was a Sea Scout at the 1947 WJ. I have not been able to see what she has yet but that might be a really cool display piece if I can work it out. Another guy I talked to yesterday was at the 1975 WJ in Norway and served as the SPL of his troop. Sadly that kept him too busy to trade many patches.
This week I have 60 live auctions on vintage event patches. I’ve found that you never really know which council or event is going to spark some interest so I always try and auction off the better ones.
Tomorrow my son starts school which means everyone in the house will be “back on schedule”. This is good news because I look forward to having a consistent schedule each day for work and kid activities. I’ve been reminded lately that I have to take everything in small bites and can’t too much on my plate. So today the main course is getting auctions listed for this week.
