Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter December 10, 2024
Tomorrow I am taking my patch warehouse employees out to lunch and giving them a nice Xmas bonus to celebrate all we have accomplished in 2024. In terms of sales the business all together had our best year ever. That’s saying something in this economic environment.
Some of you will remember that in 2023 I had 4 different eBay stores running with a cute strategy to try and get sales. But at the end of the year I rolled everything into Santeeswapper and for the entire year we have maintained at least 80k items in the store while listing and selling almost an equal amount every week.
At the same time we abandoned using 1st class stamps and went to sending every package with tracking. With the hep of my employees we also lowered our shipping turnaround to 1 business day and by June we qualified as a Top Rated Seller on eBay – their highest distinction. Since I was not working at summer camp we just barreled through the summer and fall maintaining all the metrics while I continued to purchase small 1 box collections from people all over. So there is a lot to celebrate for a great 2024.
On eBay I have 135 auctions running this week. These include many National OA and better NOAC issues. You will also see the beginning of my very best merit badge dupes live this week.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
