I don't know how I missed this announcement back in July 2011, but the design of the Girl Scout stamp celebrating their 100th Anniversary sure looks familiar! The stamp will be issued on June 9, 2012.
I got an email from one of my Scouting Hot Finds readers today asking about this item. His questions was, "I just spotted a reproduction Blacksmithing Sq. merit badge being offered by hokum1017 on eBay. The number is 150753438353. This is the first repro I've seen. Are others also being reproduced. How long has this been going on. "...Read More
Talk about the pick of the litter! I know many of you who are avid Dixie Fellowship and SR-5 collectors will have spotted this listing recently on eBay. I want to mention it because this particular patch holds a special significance for me. When I was assembling my Dixie collection back in the late 1990s-early 2000s this was the very...Read More
I've never posted something like this on the blog so let me tell you that this video is touching on a sensitive subject but it is hilarious if you have a sense of humor. In late 2011 many fake OA patches were popping up on eBay. There were a few sellers from China that were putting these fakes onto the market. At the time I put together a 24 page booklet with the images of the fakes so that collectors could spot them. Some time has past but every once in a while you...Read More

I got this from a friend of mine and thought it would be a good topic for a post in the Patchblanket forum so others could respond. He has listed an honor society patch for the Sea Scouts. It got me to thinking - are there other quasi-official honor organizations for Venture Scouts? I know that Venture Crews are...Read More
